Scottish Arts Club Exhibition

I am showing new work along with Sarah Wass (print) and Katherine Davidson (painting) at this venerable location in the heart of Edinburgh.
The show runs until April 2nd and is open Tuesdays to Saturdays 11- 5. The address is 24 Rutland Square EH1 2BW. Open to members of the public, be bold and ring the doorbell, go up the stairs and have a coffee from the bar as you enjoy the work.


Art at Ancrum..... Open Studio

May day today and this weekend is the annual art Jamboree in the picturesque village of Ancrum. 
I will be opening my studio up to all and sundry to come  and have a look and eat the traditional rock cakes! 
I will be there every day this weekend and on Monday of course from 10 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon so do drop by if you are in the area. There are over 30 artists and makers taking part so something for everyone.

Spring Show at The Hirsel

Anyone in the area of Coldstream this spring should head to The Hirsel where besides a tasty bite at the cafe and wonderful woodland walks there is a new gallery among the craft outlets there. The White Fox gallery run by Steven and Virginie; talented photographer and wood painter respectively, is hosting a show with more than 10 of my stone pieces. Fragments of Red

March 20, 2014

As part of a creative response to the mediaeval missal found in Hawick and know as the Hawick Fragment I have been producing a number of works in plaster and with ink and paper. Some of this work will be included in an exhibition in the Old Parish Church in Melrose and open as part of the performance of “Fragments of Red” commencing at Melrose Abbey on Saturday the 5th April 2014

weekend successes, Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who came to my dusty open workshop at the weekend, struggling down a potholed track to be rewarded by rock-cakes, stone carvings and a beautiful view of Rubers Law my local (extinct) volcano.
The following weekend "Meet Your Maker" at Hawick Textile Towerhouse was also a great success. 
I had quite a few people keen to have a shot of letter cutting, so much so that I am thinking of running a taster course in carving in the Spring! watch this space.

On September  the 7th & 8th I will be in Hawick at the Textile Tower-house showing some of my work and demonstrating lettering.There will be some stone and chisels for you to have a go and letters for the chidlers to make rubbings from. why not come and have ago? On the last weekend of August I will be flinging open my workshop doors in Ancrum and welcoming you in to see my work in all it's dusty glory. If you have ever been the slightest bit curious as to how these letters are actually cut into the stone, by hand no windmills involved- then come and find out!
