Snowed off but busy planning

The weather has treated us to lots lovely white stuff which has meant I have been able to spend time at home hatching plans and designing work .I am running a 2 day lettering course at Buy Design - just over the road from Ancrum this August 25 and 26th in the lovely courtyard there.see the web-site for booking and details - I am also taking part in Art@Ancrum for the May bank holiday -

Dusty Doors swinging Open!

Time has come around again for the annual festival of visual feasting that is Art @ Ancrum. On all weekend from 30th April till 2nd May each day from 10am till 5pm
This year I have lots of new work on show including prints and hand-made books, not to mention new works in stone so dust off your snow boots and follow the sun down the A 68 to Ancrum village.
As usual traditional rock cakes will be on offer for first comers, see you there!

weekend successes, Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who came to my dusty open workshop at the weekend, struggling down a potholed track to be rewarded by rock-cakes, stone carvings and a beautiful view of Rubers Law my local (extinct) volcano.
The following weekend "Meet Your Maker" at Hawick Textile Towerhouse was also a great success. 
I had quite a few people keen to have a shot of letter cutting, so much so that I am thinking of running a taster course in carving in the Spring! watch this space.
